Twitter on your iPhone with 16 columns

Author: Phone Reports
If you're in search of the best twitter client for the iPhone you should try "Tweet" which has a combination of unique features, and unlike some of the competition, they actually work!

With multiple columns (sixteen of them) managing your multiple accounts will be a breeze. You're able to swipe between different accounts on the screen in either portrait or landscape modes. What's nice it that the app will automatically scroll down to the last read tweet to save you trying to find out where you left off. Badges along the bottom of each column will show how many new tweets, mentions and direct messages you have.

If you're stuck somewhere without a signal like the subway or anywhere else where you just can't connect to the internet Tweet stores your tweets so you can still catch up on things. Speaking of storing tweets you can also store Tweets with their avatars in the Contacts (the address book) and with a bit of playing around with the syncing you can have them show up in your Exchange contacts too!

It's really nice to be able to see tweeted photos from the picture services in the timeline. If you touch on a picture the larger image will be displayed. Not only can you do this for avatar's but also picture service links. That is it displays the image in the timeline as well as the picture service (twitpic, mobypicture, etc.) link.

When you're tweeting you have the option to save to drafts if you want to Tweet later. If you just can't get a internet connection or your signal drops your tweet will automatically be saved. Each different account you enter has it's own set of drafts to keep you organized. If you don't feel like typing you can send out an audio tweet. Of course you can also post pictures to the picture services like TwitPic, MobyPicture and Twitrpix.

Touching on hyperlinks will open the web page in the browser or play the video. When you touch a hashtag the lastest tweets with that hashtag come up. Touching on a mention gives options to reply to and get more info on that user.

Color coding tweets is also a great time saver. A lot of twitter clients have filters to totally block out tweets. The color coding option let's you still see what's going on while highlighting tweets you don't want to miss and allowing to easily skip over the ones that you do. You're able to mix the primary colors red, green and blue to create any color you want. Map links and geocoded tweets are also supported. (for geocoding you need to log in to your Twitter account via the web and enable this feature).

This is also one of the few twitter clients to support public timeline and show popular tweets in searches. Also all the trends are supported. I mean current, daily, weekly and regional. Of course there's also list support as well.

What you're probably going to like best is that it is free. "Tweet" and "Tweet - iPad Edition" are available in the app store.
